Greetings Reggae Review Posse.  We've all got our bags packed and we're on our way to Reggae on the River for three Days of Music, Fun in the Sun and a chance to meet old friends and meet new ones.  I tell you every year to get your tickets early because its sells out months in advance and I hope you took my word this year and got your tickets.  If not you'll have to read all about it in the September 2001 Issue of the Reggae Review. 
For those making the journey this year have fun but be safe and drive safely.   For those of you who are wondering who's on the lineup here is a little taste of who is going to be there:  Papa Wemba (Congo), Toots & The Maytal (JA), Beenie Man, Silver Cat, Kirk Davis (JA), Diana King (JA), Lagbaja (Nigeria), Spirit of Polynesia Dance Review (Hawaii), David Kirton (Barbados), Luciano, Mikey General,Marcia Griffith, Everton Blender, Richie Spice, Spanner Banner, Mr. Vegas (JA), Sylvia Tella (England/JA) just to name a few.

Big Things a Gwan at Club Dread (SF) this month.  On Monday, August 6th Club
Dread Celebrates "Jamacian Independence" featuring "MR VEGAS" plus DJs Clique International, Blaka Fox & Doogie.  Also on Monday, August 20th Club Dread
presents "WOMEN IN REGGAE" featuring "Queen Dons Supreme," DJ SEP (Dub
Mission) and DJ BELLA.  Respect due to all the Women in Reggae DJs.  These are two nights not to be missed.  At Club Dread (SF) Ladies are free before 10:00 PM.   Go Dare.

Coming to San Francisco at the Maritime Hall's Annual "The One Festival" this year will be Buju Banton, Yellowman, Michael Rose, Itals, Johnny Osbourne, Shinehead, Nadine Sutherland, Ernest Ranglin, Mutabaruka and the Slaptones. This is a three day even not to be missed.  Also Saturday, August 25th at Chris' New Harbor (Belmont, CA) will be live and direct from Montego Bay, JA the one and only "Culture Canute" backed by Iration. This is an event not to be missed. "Reggae on Broadway" is back every Thursday Nite at the Club called Broadway, on Broadway near Jack London Square in Oakland featuring DJs Rolo 1-3, Polo Mo'Xquuz plus guess DJs.   Club Judah is happening at Jellies (Pier 50) every Wednesday Nite.  Go Dare.
